Yes that is me in the picture and yes I am wearing a woolly hat on the beach…it was a sunny, but cold Autumnal morning at Humberston in Lincolnshire!!

Originally from Yorkshire, I relocated to Cornwall with my husband in 2016.

My journey so far…a cancer diagnosis found me looking for something to aid my recovery, I am grateful to yoga for restoring me.  After several years of yoga practice, I was keen to share what I was learning.

On return from a ‘gap year for grown ups’ with my husband Martyn, everything seemed to slot into place and I embarked on a three year British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma course.  Studying again as a ‘mature’ student didn’t come easy, but it was worth the hard work!

My teaching has been varied, including  working as part of the small team at Jasmine Trust Yoga, private one to one sessions, personal yoga teacher for Panchakarma clients at Ayurveda Lifestyle, to working with those going through the cancer journey for Aurora Wellbeing.
Yoga is a continuous learning journey and along the way I am grateful to learn from and be inspired both by other teachers and students.

As part of my ongoing personal development, I love going to workshops and embark on courses with teachers whose work I admire, giving me the opportunity to explore both in my own practice and in teaching.

A note about pain…several years ago I stumbled across Hanna Somatic Education, (aka Somatics), please see the ‘Somatic Education’ tab for more info. I was looking for ways to help me with muscular lower back pain, something that I could do for myself, I wasn’t interested in being passive and keeping on going to a chiropractor or physio, as fantastic as they are, and being ‘put back together’.  I wanted to learn, regain awareness and motor control of muscles…the answer was Somatics.  Both my personal practice and teaching are now sprinkled with this safe, gentle and common sense approach to relieve muscular pain, very empowering.

I hold personal data on people who either attend, or who have attended classes One to Ones or events/workshops.

What information and why: Contact name, email address, telephone number and relevant health information. This information is collected to communicate about services offered and to tailor what I offer. Email is used to contact you about class, or phone number for urgent updates.

Under the new data protection legislation, I must inform you of my valid lawful basis to process this personal data.

I collect data from you via several means, by sign up to my newsletter on the website, through you writing your name, e-mail address and telephone number on a sign-up sheet at classes/events, and completion of a health form, in all instances, you opt-in to receive information.

Some of this information is stored on a mailchimp account for which I use to send you information about classes and events via a newsletter. It is not given to anyone else.

The mailchimp account only stores your name and e-mail address it does not store your telephone number or any other information about you.

I take the obligation to protect the information you give me very seriously, and always take care when using and processing it.

This information is kept for up to 7 years from the last time a student comes to class, to comply with insurance.

You have the right to opt out at any point using the unsubscribe button at the bottom of all newsletters, or by contacting me directly and you also have the right to be forgotten at any point.
